Hello Everyone,
We had a most satisfying June Board meeting. As we sat together, we were able to see, once again, how well we work together for WaterMoon Refuge. It was our great pleasure to see how, with your help, the Refuge has evolved into something so beautiful and useful. We are continually awed and grateful by the Divine Power that does this.
In our April Board meeting we decided to let things settle. It worked! In this recent meeting we were aware that things are not only settling but expanding on their own in the best of ways, becoming richer in stillness as we continue to keep it simple. In this June meeting, we chose a mission statement and clarified our core values. Now we have a reference when decisions for the Refuge need to be made. I’ll send this information on when it’s completed.
The deck is ‘decked out’. Bamboo, butterfly bush, purselane, begonias, coral bells, petunias, dragon wings….and a lotus bud ready to open. Please come and share this beauty with us on Sunday, August 8th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. It will be a simple potluck for community. Our other Gatherings have not been held in warm weather so we invite you to get the flavor of a WaterMoon summer.
I look forward to sharing your ever-evolving Refuge with you on August 8th.
Until then, loving peace,
Swami Lotus

Hello Everyone,
In my last note I mentioned that the Board had chosen a Mission Statement. I wanted to share it with you, as well as our vision for WaterMoon Refuge and the core values it stands on and for. These are important to have for our own clarification and to use as a guide for decisions and communications and to deepen understanding for everyone.
Mission Statement:
WaterMoon Refuge offers a quiet, beautiful place in the city where people can be still.
Vision:
WaterMoon Refuge aspires to fulfill its mission by being moved, not by moving.
Core Values:
Stillness
Beauty
Simplicity
Opening
What makes us different:
WaterMoon Refuge is the quiet haven in Atlanta where people can simply be still, without being invited either to take formal instruction or to affiliate with particular doctrine, system or community.
It continues to be my great privilege and happiness to offer this space to all. A place for stillness is the necessary balance to the busyness we all experience every day. May you all find refuge in your own hearts. May WaterMoon assist you in that endeavor.
Loving peace,
Swami Lotus
