SACRED GUIDANCE from KUAN YIN
Third Mondays monthly
Class fee: $20.00
Timeless spiritual teachings and principles made available to modern seekers.
Date: ongoing
Topic:
In China, in the 13th century, a collection of sacred Oracles was written and housed in a special temple. Their purpose was to obtain guidance from Kuan Yin, Bodhisattva of Compassion. People making pilgrimage to the temple would offer themselves and their concern and then draw one of the Oracles in answer.
Rev. Cate Kodo Juno in Australia, a Buddhist Priest, spiritual scholar and devotee of Kuan Yin, has translated
these oracles from the original Chinese for our use today. WaterMoon Refuge is the only place, other than Rev. Kodos own temple, to have these beautiful, culturally resonant translations
We meet once a month, bringing a concern or need. Then each will draw an Oracle. That guidance is applied to our query for one month until we meet again when we can ask the same thing, go on to a refinement or something entirely new.
At some point, we all have questions and need some guidance. The Oracles offer that guidance because we ourselves are Kuan Yin so we are asking ourselves. Who would know better?!
This is an open group. Please bring a friend.

Topic: THE INNER CHAPTERS OF CHUANG-TZU
Chuang-tzu, one of the greatest figures of early Taoism, used parables and paradox to illustrate that real happiness and freedom are found only in understanding the Tao or the Way of nature and dwelling in it's unity. This class will focus on Chuang-tzu's writings, called "The Inner Chapters". The text to be purchased is "The Way of Chuang-tzu" by Thomas Merton. This text will be supplemented with excerpts from another translation as the class proceeds, but only one book needs to be purchased.
